The village of Thoronet is located in the department of Var. The village was established near the Thoronet Abbey, a masterpiece of Romanesque architecture. The Thoronet Abbey, built in the 12th century, is one of the three Cistercian Abbaye de Provence, the other two being Silvacane (Bouches du Rhône) and Sénanque (Vaucluse). The simple lines, harmony that emerges from the building leaves no visitor indifferent. Not far from Thoronet is the picturesque medieval village of Le Cannet des Maures which dominates the plain of the Moors. This area is easily accessible from the A8 motorway, exit by "Luc-en-Provence" The heart of the Var is a place for walking in nature and soil, the vines are grown. Lake Besse sur Isole is a popular swimming spot for young and old.
