Provencal Authenticity and Hospitality

The Verdon, an alpine river, carves out unique and impressive landscapes at the border of the Alpes de Haute-Provence and Var departments.
Before joining the Durance, the Verdon sculpted narrow and deep gorges into the limestone massif. These cliffs, reaching dizzying heights of 200 to 500 meters, form a majestic canyon. Among them, the "Grand Canyon" or "Hautes Gorges du Verdon," located between Castellane and Lake Sainte-Croix, offers some of the most spectacular panoramas and viewpoints in the region.
At the exit of the Gorges, in the commune of Aiguines, stretches Lake Sainte-Croix. Created in 1973, it is the second-largest artificial lake in Europe. This haven of peace attracts water sports enthusiasts, including rafting, canoeing, kayaking, and canyoning. Picturesque villages like Bauduen and Sainte-Croix-sur-Verdon, located along the lake's shores, enhance the charm of this iconic region.
