Immerse yourself in the captivating atmosphere of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, a charming
village perched on a long, wide hill on the left bank of the Rhône, where history blends with the cultivation of
vines. This prosperous, peaceful and picturesque village is famous the world over for its
                prestigious wine.
            History and wine heritage
In the Middle Ages, when the popes lived nearby in Avignon,
Pope John XXII ordered the construction of the château, of which only the façade
remains today. The Pope also ordered vines to be planted on the hill to supply the papal court with
wine. From that time onwards, the remarkable qualities of these wines gave them a reputation that has
survived the vicissitudes of the centuries right up to the present day.
            An exceptional terroir
In the Châteauneuf-du-Pape terroir, the vines thrive in sun-drenched clay soil, strewn
with large pebbles washed down by the Rhône during the Ice Ages. Thanks to the unique
influence of the Mistral, this terroir produces some of the world's finest
wines, renowned for their richness and complexity.

Savour the excellence of Châteauneuf-du-Pape wines, the first Appellation
d'Origine Contrôlée created in 1923. The hard work of local winemakers, dedicated to

                exceptional terroir.
