Cannes is a famous seaside town of the Riviera, located in the Alpes Maritimes. Cannes is world famous for its Film Festival, which since 1946 has seen on the Croisette every major (and other) stars of the Seventh Art. The walk from the Croisette Boulevard is the waterfront, along the beach and is surrounded by large palaces. The palaces of the most famous Cannes Cannes is the Martinez, the Carlton, the Majestic. The islands of Lerins (Île Sainte-Marguerite and Ile Saint Honorat), opposite the bay of Cannes, are preserved natural spaces. Cannes has a rich architectural heritage: a 11th century castle overlooking the old town, rich villas are now building classified as historical monuments. Around Cannes and Antibes are Marineland, where dolphins and orcas offer great moments for young and old, the city of Grasse perfume, and the seaside resort of Mandelieu-La Napoule.
